Calculate engagement by views, followers, or multiple videos — with supporting metrics and benchmark context.
Video Engagement
—ER by Views
—Total Engagements
—Engagements / 1K Views
—Like Rate
Enter your video metrics to calculate engagement.
How Does This Tool Work?
1. Enter video data
Add views, likes, comments and shares. Saves are optional when reliable data is available.
2. Calculate ER by views
Total selected engagements are divided by views and multiplied by 100.
3. Read the supporting metrics
Engagements per 1,000 views and like rate show more context than ER alone.
4. Compare consistently
Use the same engagement definition and denominator when comparing videos or creators.
TikTok Engagement Rate Formula
ER by Views = (Likes + Comments + Shares + optional Saves) ÷ Views × 100. Engagements / 1K = Total Engagements ÷ Views × 1,000.

—Avg Views / Video
—Engagements / 1K
Use the same recent-video window for comparisons.
Why Both Followers and Views?
Follower ER = Average Engagement per Video ÷ Followers × 100. View ER = Total Engagement ÷ Total Views × 100. These answer different questions and should not be compared as the same metric.
Analyze up to 10 recent videos. Average, median and weighted ER help reduce the effect of one unusually viral or weak video.

How This Beats a Single-Post Calculator
Average
Good for a broad recent-content snapshot, but viral outliers can affect it.
Median
Useful when one or two videos are unusually strong or weak.
Weighted ER
Lets total view volume determine the combined view-based rate.
ER Spread
Shows how far apart your highest and lowest recent video rates are.

Use Benchmarks Correctly
Match the formula
Do not compare follower-based ER with view-based ER.
Match account size
Use the closest follower tier.
Match the time window
Recent content is more useful for current performance.
Consider niche
Industry, audience and content format can materially change ER.
